You don’t have to spend tons of money on a brand name face mask when you can easily make one at home with ingredients that you can find in your kitchen. 5 DIY Summer Glow Skin Masks
1. Golden Glow
Ingredients: 1 tsp turmeric, 1 tsp honey, and 1 tsp milk
Unusually, turmeric is a great component for your skin due to its antioxidant, anti-inflammatory, and anti-bacterial agent properties. When combined with honey and milk, the mask doubles as a moisturizer as well as an exfoliant. Combine the turmeric and honey, then add milk until the mixture is a thick paste that can be applied to your face.
2. Overnight Brightener
Ingredients: 1 tbsp tomato juice and 2 tbsp coconut milk
I bet you would have never guessed that tomato juice could do wonders for your skin. Well, it can, and it does especially when combined with coconut milk. The fruit acid mixed with the lactic acid provides your skin with a brightening and clearing effect.
Apply up to 3 layers of the mixture, allowing each layer to dry before applying the next. Keep the mask on overnight and rinse in the morning.
3. Tropical Brightener
Ingredients: 1 tbsp lemon juice and 1 tbsp coconut oil
Coconut and lemons don’t only belong in your drinks. Get island ready with this 2-ingredient face mask, consisting of lemon juice and coconut oil. Both ingredients are commonly used in hair as lightening and moisturizing agents, respectively.
Apply to your face evenly with and then massage into the skin wherever there is discoloration. Leave overnight and apply at least up to 3 times to begin to see results.
4. Anti-inflammatory Face Mask
Ingredients: 2 tbsp honey, 2 tbsp Greek Yogurt, 1 small egg white, 1/3 cup oatmeal, and 1/2 cup hot water
Have you ever had a day where your skin just does not want to cooperate and no amount of makeup could cover up all the redness and irritation? Well, all your skin woes have come to an end with this oatmeal mask. Oatmeal cools your skin and suppresses the inflammation.
Combine the oatmeal and water. Then add the rest of the ingredients and apply to your face. Let it sit for 15 minutes and rinse to see your skin glow!
5. Sweet, Sweet Glow
Ingredients: 1/3 cup dark cocoa powder, 1/4 cup honey, 3 tbsp heavy whipping cream, 2 tbsp powdered oatmeal
If you have a huge sweet tooth, this next face mask might be a problem. Whoever thought chocolate could actually do wonders for your skin? Believe it or not, chocolate actually has a ton of antioxidants and prevents cell damage. The best ingredients of all the previous masks come together in this mask to form a chocolaty paste that you can apply to your face for 15 minutes. Once you’re done, just wash off with lukewarm water.
